The Champions League round of 16 continued on Tuesday with the second most anticipated tie after Real Madrid-PSG. Barcelona went to Chelsea and got a fine result, while Bayern Munich pretty much eliminated its opponent after just 90 minutes.

Here’s what to know:

Barcelona 1, Chelsea 1

Chelsea was the sharper, more dangerous team in attack but neither the Blues nor Barcelona could find the back of the net more than once in an intense 1-1 draw that favors Barca.

It was all Willian for the hosts, as the Brazilian hit both posts before scoring a fantastic opener in the second half:

Then, for the first time ever, Lionel Messi scored against Chelsea, ending a spell of 729 minutes without bagging one the against the Blues:

Did you see that “pass” from Andreas Christensen? Tough break for Chelsea.

Horrific passing that cost Chelsea a 1-0 win. Antonio Conte’s defensive set-up was fine for much of the night, pushing Barca wide and giving the team little time in the final third. And a mistake like that takes Chelsea from having a good shot of moving on to now unlikely of advancing.

Bayern Munich 5, Besiktas 0

The German giants are all but through to the round of 16 after a dominant 3-0 win over 10-man Besiktas, with Thomas Muller scoring twice. After the Turkish club went down to 10 men early after a harsh red card on Domagoj Vida, Bayern improved as the match went on, scoring three times in the second half.

Here’s the red:

Then it was Muller with the opener from close:

Kingsley Coman added the second before Muller scored his second and Robert Lewandowski added two late goals for the blowout.

As for the chances of a Besiktas comeback?

What’s next?

The round of 16 continues on Wednesday when Manchester United goes to Sevilla and Roma visits Shakhtar Donetsk.
